*************SONGS*************
There’s a River of Life
There’s a river of life flowing out of me.
Makes the lame to walk and the blind to see.
Opens prison doors, sets the captive free
There’s a river of life flowing out of me.
Spring up O well, within my soul
Spring up O well, and make me whole
Spring up O well, and give to me
That life abundantly
There’s New Life In Jesus
There’s New Life In Jesus, Lift up your heart
There’s New Life In Jesus, Lift up your heart
Lift up your heart, Lift up your heart
There’s New Life In Jesus, Lift up your heart
We See the Lord
We see the Lord, we see the Lord
And He is high and lifted up, and His train fills the temple
And He is high and lifted up, and His train fills the temple
The angels cry “Holy!”
The angels cry “Holy!”
The angels cry “Holy is the Lord!”
Come and Go With Me To That Land
Come and Go With Me To That Land
Come and Go With Me To That Land
Come and Go With Me To That Land where I’m bound
Come and Go With Me To That Land
Come and Go With Me To That Land
To that land, to that land where I’m bound.
Be singin’ and dancing in that land…
All Hail the Pow’r of Jesus’ Name
All Hail the Pow’r of Jesus’ Name
Let angels prostrate fall
Bring forth the royal diadem,
And crown Him Lord of all!
Bring forth the royal diadem,
And crown Him Lord of all!
2. Ye chosen seed of Israel’s race
Ye ransomed from the fall
Hail Hm who saves you by His grace
And crown Him Lord of all!
Hail Hm who saves you by His grace
And crown Him Lord of all!
3. Let every kindred, ev’ry tribe
On this terrestrial ball
To Him all majesty ascribe
And crown Him Lord of all!
To Him all majesty ascribe
And crown Him Lord of all!
4. O that with yonder sacred throng
We at His feet may fall!
We’ll join the everlastng song
And crown Him Lord of all!
We’ll join the everlastng song
And crown Him Lord of all!
Be Still My Soul
1. Be still my soul, the Lord is on thy side!
Bear patiently, the cross of grief or pain.
Leave to thy God, to order + provide
In ev’ry chg, th faithful will remain
Be still my soul, thy best, thy heav’nly friend
Thru thorny ways, leads to a joyful end.
2. Be still my soul, thy God doth undertake,
to guide the future as He has the past.
Thy hope, thy confidence let nothing shake
All now mysterious shall be bright at last.
Be still my soul, the waves and winds still know.
His voice who ruled them while He dwelt below.
I Rejoiced
I rejoiced when they said to me
“Let us go to the house of the Living God”
And now my feet are standing
Within your walls, O Jerusalem.
1. I see Your glory, glory, glory, my God
Father, Son, Holy Spirit.
2. I sense Your power, power, power, my God
Father, Son, Holy Spirit.
3. You are holy, holy, holy, my God
Father, Son, Holy Spirit.
Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
Father
Music by Nick Alexander
1.Father hallowed be Your Name
Your Kingdom come
Give us this day our daily bread
Allelu, Alleluia
2. Father You are in heaven
Let Your will be done
For Yours is, the kingdom, pow’r and glory,
Forevermore Alleluia
Forgive us Lord, our sins
As we forgive those who do us wrong
And save us Lord from the time of trial
Allelu, Alleluia

Nick, Congrats on launching your first podcast episode. This is a WONDERFUL first episode!
How terrifying and how aunostding. I thank God your family lived through such a storm. The scars on the land are heartbreaking, but at the same time, you still have your hands to plant new trees that will shade your descendants and time to create an even more beautiful haven than was there before. Hold on to the memories of what it was, but also dream about what in the future it can be, not just for you but for your great-grandchildren. The foundation is still there to build upon and to create that joyful end . The family that creates the home is still there. The wood from the fallen trees can keep someone warm in the winter, or be used to make furniture or other useful things. The open land can be a blank page on which to reshape a place for generations to come. Destruction can make way for creation. It’s definitely a struggle to get back to the point of creating, but you will get there. You are one determined lady with lots of help (and Help) on your side.
Nick,
Nicely done.
Great work!
I love the hymn Be Still, My Soul , Kelly. It brings back fond memrioes of going to my grandparents’ house next door to practice piano when I was growing up. This song was my grandpa’s favorite hymn, and he would ask me to play it for him from time to time. He endured a lot of hardship in his 95 years (death of his first wife in the 1918 flu epidemic after only a couple months of marriage, death of his firstborn my dad’s only sibling in World War II, six heart attacks, two strokes, and the death of my grandma in their early 90 s), but Be Still, My Soul always brought him peace.God does so many beautiful things through music. His power and majesty, and His peace and comfort are proclaimed so effectively through the words of hymns like this. Thank you for this post, Kelly. It’s a lovely reminder of God’s infinite mercy through all circumstances. Praying God’s blessings on you and your family!
Singing along! Nice job, Nick!
Father God as I watched the news my heart broke for those cahugt up in the earthquake. Lord I ask that you be the God of peace and strength to these people. Father I pray for the rescue teams, may they not falter or faint as they search for survivors. May they be successful Lord in their mission. Be with their families Lord as the emergency services work in dangerous buildings. Keep them safe Lord. Father, I bring the grieving to your throne of mercy. Comfort them Lord, carry them in the days and weeks ahead. For those who fear another quake, may they be stilled Lord. May your gospel of salvation and peace be heard. Amen.
I’ve been thinking of you often, and pyairng. I am glad that it is mostly’ well with your soul. I am upset with myself that it is not so well with my soul and how ashamed I am to admit that. I want it to be well. Have no reason not to shout praises to God for all the ways He has blessed. In my case, as I suppose in everyone’s, it is about dreams, hopes, and longings un-met. And don’t I know that Christ does fill such voids, and only He can. I’m just trying to mesh what I know’ with how I feel’ and they are not connecting! And I know that it’s about habit, and taking captive’ thoughts to the obedience of Christ. About replacing the negative spiraling thoughts when they first make their appearance; for that which is lovely, virtuous, humble, and Christ focused. But what I know isn’t enough. That’s why I’m blessed by your post. That you’ve found the way for Him to be enough; well, most days. I guess I thought I’d share that with someone that will give grace. And I know you can. So thank you for listening without casting that shocked glance that I cast enough at my own self. Pam
